Bolgar state Museum-reserve continues to participate in inter-Museum project #Estateresidential. The next stage of the project “people dressed in gems”: hats and jewelry. Today we offer you to get acquainted with a small part of the Museum collection of national hats and jewelry and learn about the symbol of the Tatar people – the Tulip.
Each nation has its own symbol, endowed with great importance, the Tatars – a Tulip. The flower is one of the most popular elements of the Tatar ornament, it is found in traditional embroidery, as well as in the painting of houses and the interior decoration of mosques. Wild Tulip-the flower of the vast Central Asian steppes, the first to Wake up after winter. Because the Tatars considered it a symbol of renewal and rebirth. With the advent of Islam in Tatarstan plant motif acquired a new sacred meaning, it became known as the” Flower of God”, as in the Arabic word” Tulip “and” Allah ” share the same letters. Over the centuries, the religious values were added secular interpretation: the Tulip has become a symbol of the desire for great achievements.”
