Jewelry

Jewelers had a special status among the Bulgarian craftsmen. As a rule, jewelry shops were located in the central part of the city to be closer to rich customers and potential consumers. Gold and silver products were in great demand and were famous even outside the state.

Bulgarian jewelers knew the most difficult methods of processing of precious metals. Therefore, the range of products of the Bulgarian jewelers is very extensive.

The favorite jewelry of women were wicker and plate bracelets, moon earrings, rings and  temporal pendants made of copper, silver and gold.

A special place in the archeological collection of the Bolgar State Museum-Reserve is occupied by jewelry. Many of these jewelry items were discovered in such hoards as Kozhaevcky, Comintern and others.

Figurines of waterfowl, bracelets, coins and other pieces of jewelry are still remarkable in its elegance.
