On January 16, 2019 the employee of the Department of Museum-educational activity of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve Sabirova L. A. held an interactive educational event for the students of the Correctional boarding school.
Yuletide is the main winter holiday in Russia. Yuletide, the Holy days-two weeks winter holidays, began in Christmas Eve (6 January) and lasted until Christening (19 January), always were the main winter holiday on Russias. At Christmas time, no one was taken for no work, for fear of misfortune. On the first day of the holiday it was decided to visit relatives and friends, as well as to pay attention to the poor, the deprived and the poor. Many families in Russia helped the poor, feeding them. We also visited orphanages, orphanages and hospitals. Even the kings, disguised as commoners, visited prisoners in prisons and gave alms on the street.
There was a tradition to give gifts that came from paganism – it echoed with the offering of gifts to the Gods. People gave gifts to friends and acquaintances, ranging from penny Souvenirs and ending with expensive gifts.
During the event, the children learned the history of the origin of the holiday. In an interactive form of the game we got acquainted with the traditions and customs of the celebration of Christmas. The event was filled with dances, games, and ended this event with traditional divination and tea.
