On January 11, 2019, the employee of the Department of art and educational activities of the Department of the Museum L. Sabirova. within the opening of the exhibition “new Year’s mood” held an interactive event “Nardugan-nartavan” for students of the art Department of THE Bulgarian children’s art school”.
Nardugan-translated from Turkic means “born of the sun” and symbolizes the pagan cult of the Sun. They began to celebrate it from the days of the winter solstice to the birth of Christ. We can say that the Nardugan is the same Yuletide. The holiday symbolizes the awakening of nature and the triumph of life. In celebration with ritual songs mummers went from house to house, wishing everyone joy, health, prosperity. This holiday under different names is known among all the peoples of the Volga region. Tatars, Bashkirs and Udmurts celebrate Nardugan, Chuvash, Natavan, Russian – Yuletide. This holiday is one of the main in the solar economic calendar of these peoples.
At the event, the children got acquainted with the traditions, customs and rituals associated with these holidays. And themselves actively participated in games, songs, dances. The event ended with a tour of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve.
