August 25, 2018 employees of the Department of excursions of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve Sabirzyanova L. I., Rogachev M. N. conducted information and educational event “Memory of the distant war”, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the defeat of the Soviet troops of Nazi troops in the battle of Kursk for students of the city of Novosheshminsk.
The battle of Kursk took place from 5 July to 23 August 1943. It went down in history as the greatest event of the war, an outstanding defensive and offensive operation of our troops. Its results largely determined the further course of the entire second world war and its victorious final in favor of the States of the anti-Hitler coalition. The battle of Kursk included three major strategic operations of our troops:
– Kursk defensive;
– Oryol offensive;
– Belgorod-Kharkiv offensive.
It was characterized by a huge spatial scale, exceptional tension and fierce battles.
During the event, the children got acquainted with the situation on the fronts of the Second world war, learned about the battles under the Kursk bulge, the heroism and courage of the soldiers who took part in this battle, as well as the greatest role of the red Army in this battle. It was also told about the natives of the Spassky district, who fought on the”fire arc”. The event ended with a tour and photos.
