On July 3, an employee of the excursion department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve V.N. Glavnova held an information and educational event “Bolgar is the tourist jewel of Tatarstan” for 25 students from the “Regina” recreation camp of Kazan.
Bolgar is a tourist center, and the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve is located on the territory of the ancient city. Great Bolgar is an amazing place of power and a living monument to how different cultures, languages, and religions have learned to not only survive together, but also create a unique shared history over the centuries. Today, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve is a vast open-air archaeological park located on the high bank of the Volga River.
During the event, the participants visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization where they explored the museum’s exhibits, learned about the origins and development of the museum-reserve, and gained insights into the research and archaeological excavations conducted within its boundaries. They also took a stroll along the historic embankment and admired the unique medieval monuments. The quiz “Journey to Ancient Bolgar” was held. The event ended with colorful photos for keepsakes.
