On June 27, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve hosted a large-scale open-air music event, the “Guardians” Ethno-Rock Festival featuring federal-level headliners.
The festival was held in conjunction with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the President of Russia. The festival’s musical concept was designed as a “family festival” that brought together the interests of different generations. The stage was filled with both established veterans of the Russian rock scene and young performers from different regions of the country.
The main headliners of the festival were the iconic bands “Chizh & Co.”, “Melnitsa” and Neuromonakh Feofan. The festival featured a special guest, the Tuvan band Huun-Huur-Tu who has gained international recognition, been nominated for the prestigious World Music Award, and captivated major international venues with their authentic throat singing. Nine musical groups performed, including “Volga-Volga”, Gauga, “ZhivaGO”, Rhenium, and Inverno Orchestra.
Guests enjoyed food areas, workshops, a playground with attractions, and a tent camp for those who wanted to stay overnight. Admission to the festival was free, and those who could not attend were able to watch the event online.
