On May 19, an employee of the department of museum and educational activities D.P. Hramov gave a lecture “Bolgar through the eyes of great artists” to 17 tourists of the Bolgar Museum Reserve.
The lecture attendees learned that drawings and sketches of the architectural monuments of Bolgar were made at different times by Edward Tournerelli, the Chernetsov brothers, André Durand, A.K. Savrasov and I.I. Shishkin.
On the ground floor of the Memorial Sign, guests took an exciting journey through the pages of the history of the medieval state of Volga-Kama Bulgaria, which existed from the 10th to the 13th century on the territory of modern Middle Volga region. Our gallery is unique in that it allows visitors to see not only a visual reconstruction of historical events through the paintings of famous Tatarstan artists, but also a deep cultural component – spirituality, the development of crafts, and the everyday life of the people.
