On May 20, a methodologist from the “Museum Street” department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve L. Sh. Sagirova held the event “Tell me about the mosque” for children who visit the city mosque.
The children learned about the basics of Islam, the internal structure of the mosque, its role in society, architectural features, etiquette rules, and the history of the religion. They learned the meaning of the words “mihrab”, “minbar”, “staff”, “chalma”, “sermon”, and read the book “Tell me about the mosque”. The students enjoyed reminiscing about their previous meetings, and sharing the most interesting and important aspects of those events in the Tatar language.
The event concluded with a tea party.
