On April 8, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve N.R. Galimullina held an interactive lecture “Melody of the Tatar ornament” for a family group from Kazan.
As it is known, the Tatar ornament was formed on the basis of the Bulgar heritage. It has gone through a very long development path. In the work of Bulgar masters, floral and vegetative ornamentation receives significant development. The floral style expresses the beauty of the surrounding nature. Therefore, if we take an ancient ornament, we can see in it the world around us, and the natural phenomena that were characteristic of the distant ancestors of the Tatars. During their visit to the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, the guests paid more attention to the decoration and ornamentation of ancient objects, finding familiar elements of the Bulgar-Tatar ornament.
At the end of the event, the guests participated in a small master class called “Oriental Bouquet” and enjoyed a tea party in the traditional manner. Beforehand, the children were introduced to bouquet arrangements and color combinations. They used blanks and templates made of colored paper to make a Tatar national pattern, and made a small postcard with a Tatar ornament on their own.
