On March 17, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N. R. gave an interactive lecture “Bolgar duck” to 13 pupils of the “Kolosok” kindergarten in Bolgar.
There are images of birds on some exhibits of the museum-reserve. Many people are particularly attracted to women’s temple pendants in the form of a ring with a duck – this is a masterpiece of jewelry craftsmanship of the Volga Bulgars. The work of jewelry is associated with the mythological and cultural heritage of the Turkic world, which introduces us to the beliefs of our ancestors, with the idea of people about the creation of the earth.
During the event, the children got acquainted with the handicraft traditions of our ancestors through the exhibits of the archaeological museum. Special attention was paid to jewelry production. The ancient Bulgar legends about the duck and the origin of the world helped our little visitors to plunge into the past. The children divided into teams and played the game “Find an object from a showcase”, collected puzzles depicting Bolgar ancient gold jewelry and found images of birds on the exhibits of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization. At the end of the event, everyone painted a picture of a unique Bolgar jewelry as a souvenir.
