On March 6, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirszyanova L. I. held a lecture on “March 8 is not an easy number” for 11 children visiting the “House of Children’s Creativity” of the Spassky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan, dedicated to International Women’s Day on March 8.
The children learned that in Russia, the celebration of International Women’s Day became a tradition almost immediately after the moment of the “invention”, on March 2, 1913. For some, it is a celebration of spring, femininity and beauty, when flowers are given and women are congratulated, for others it is a symbol of the struggle of girls and women for equal rights and opportunities.
During the event, the participants learned the history of the holiday and how March 8 is celebrated in other countries of the world. The children guessed riddles, solved crosswords, and actively participated in the quiz. At the end of the lesson, kids made beautiful greeting cards and crafts for their mothers.
