On March 6, for 7 students of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school the staff of the excursion management department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V.N. and Rogachyova M.N. held an information and educational event “Give flowers to women” dedicated to International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 in many countries of the world, it is a celebration of common women’s solidarity. On this significant day, it is customary to congratulate beloved women: wives, mothers, grandmothers, sisters and girlfriends. Since 1966, in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 8, 1965, International Women’s Day has become a holiday and a non-working day. During the event, the students learned the history of this holiday, read poems dedicated to women, and made gift cards for their mothers and grandmothers.
