On March 6, a researcher at the “Museum of Bolgar Civilization” department of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve S.V. Krivosheyeva held a lecture “The best of women” dedicated to International Women’s Day on March 8 for the students of Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities.
For many centuries, the image of a woman, her charm, her mystery, and her beauty have attracted the attention of poets and artists, and her propensity for self-sacrifice has been the subject of admiration and adoration. A man begins with love and respect for a mother woman.
The children got acquainted with the stories of beautiful women who have left their mark on the history of our state, whose courage, talent, intelligence and beauty, and will to win cannot leave anyone indifferent. Among them are Russian Empress Catherine II, one of the most prominent personalities in Russian history, during whose reign numerous transformations were carried out in various spheres of state life; Nadezhda Durova, the first Russian female officer to be awarded the St. George Cross, the main military order of Russia, for military merit; Ekaterina Trubetskaya and Maria Volkonskaya, truly “holy” women of Russia – the wives of the Decembrists; Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, the first woman to be awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union during World War II; Valentina Tereshkova, the world’s first female cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union.
The lecture was attended by 14 people.
