On February 4, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve D.P. Hramov conducted a lesson of courage “The Battle of Stalingrad” for 8th grade students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1, dedicated to the Day of Military Glory — the Day the Soviet troops defeated the German fascist troops in the Battle of Stalingrad.
The lesson of courage took the form of a conversation with students. From the lecturer’s story and presentation, the children learned that the fate of the entire civilized world was being decided at the walls of Stalingrad. For 200 days and nights, from July 17, 1942, to February 2, 1943, the Battle of Stalingrad continued. In terms of the duration and ferocity of the fighting, in terms of the number of people and military equipment involved, the Battle of Stalingrad surpassed all battles in world history at that time. The students learned why it was important for the Germans to capture this particular city. The stories about the courage and heroism of the defenders of Stalingrad aroused a sense of pride and appreciation in the children.
At the end of the event, it was concluded that during the harsh days of the battle on the Volga, Soviet troops preserved and multiplied the best traditions of the Russian army, and the younger generation should know and remember the exploits of our great-grandfathers, and respect the history of their country!
14 people attended the event.
