On January 27, a researcher at the department of museum-educational activities of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve I.D. Muhametshin gave a lecture “Simferopol treasure” to 17 9th grade students of Bolgar secondary school No. 2.
The audience became acquainted with the unique treasure found on the outskirts of Simferopol in 1967 and kept in the collection of the State Historical Museum.
The treasure contains 328 gold and silver objects weighing 2 kg 584 g. It is a unique collection of artifacts allowing you to touch the history and culture of bygone eras. The listeners’ special attention was attracted by the detailed description of the contents of the treasure. In addition to the gold coins of the Delhi Sultanate, jewelry was found: earrings, which in the Turkic-Mongolian culture belonged to both female and male attire, bracelets, belt sets. One of the most interesting exhibits is the plaque, a copy of which is kept in the exposition of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization and is available to the public. Beads and buttons, details of clothing and jewelry, cases designed to store amulets allow you to imagine the lifestyle of people of that time, their tastes and preferences.
The lecture aroused the interest of the audience, which confirms the importance and relevance of the presented topic.
