On January 19, the head of the exhibition complex “Memorial Sign” of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Salimova G.I. held an event “Respect for every religion”, dedicated to World Religion Day, for 13 5th grade students of Bolgar cadet boarding school.
During the event, the children visited the Museum of the History of the Assumption Church and the museum-exhibition complex “Memorial sign in honor of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars in 922”. The schoolchildren learned about the history, culture, rituals, traditions and values of the two great religions – Orthodoxy and Islam. This topic is especially important for our museum, because the history and culture of the Bulgars are closely intertwined with these two world religions. For centuries, Orthodoxy and Islam have peacefully coexisted on this earth, enriching each other and contributing to the formation of a unique ethno-cultural landscape. The students listened enthusiastically and took part in the discussion of the topic, asked questions, and shared their thoughts and impressions. The event was very interesting and informative. The children learned a lot of new things and realized the importance of respecting other cultures and religions.
