On December 11, within the framework of the “Bolgar for All” project implemented at the expense of the “Tatneft” Charitable Foundation, the staff of the museum-reserve and a student of the Spassky College of Industrial Technologies held regular classes for 19 3rd grade students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1 and 6th grade students of Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities. The classes took place in the creative studio “Territory of Opportunities” and craft workshops of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
On this day, in the carpentry workshop, the children learned how to work with a jigsaw, sawed out animal figures from plywood, and burned wood. They learned difficult work on a potter’s wheel under a master-potter. Everyone in the creative studio continued their work, which they had started the day before. On sewing machines, the girls learned how to sew pillowcases and fill them with artificial down, and they made very beautiful pillows. The rest of the children were very inspired to decorate their clay Christmas trees with artistic paintings. The schoolchildren were very pleased with their works. They really wanted to take the works with them, but for now, they decided to keep their decorations for a general exhibition, which will be presented at the final lesson. By attending classes in creative studio and craft workshops, students not only gain skills in various types of decorative and applied arts, revealing their creative potential, but also learn how to adequately perceive each other, learn good neighborliness, friendly communication and mutual assistance.
