On December 1, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve V.N. Glavnova held for 14 5th and 6th grade students of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school an information and educational event “May there be only joy in life” dedicated to the International Day of the Disabled.
December 3 is the day of strong-minded people. The day of those who were not broken by fate and certain circumstances. This day is included in the calendar for a reason, and to pass by it means to miss very important moments of our lives, since without the past there is no present, or more simply to say, “as it turns out, so it will respond.” This day is very necessary for our society, both to draw attention to the problems of people with disabilities, and to admire the extraordinary strength of spirit, determination and ability of people with disabilities to succeed in the most difficult conditions. These expressions of joie de vivre and optimism can serve as an example for all of us.
At the event, students learned when and how the International Day of the Disabled is marked. They watched a presentation about strong-minded people showing talents in professional skills, visual arts, amateur creativity and sports. The children took part in the “Kind heart” contest and the “Magic seven-petal flower” game, read poems about kindness and wrote wishes to children with disabilities.
