On November 17, 2025, the relatives of the deceased Hero Gavrilushkin V. A. transferred his personal belongings to the Museum of the History of the city “Suvar” in the village of Kuznechiha of Spassky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In 2020, the search team worked at the site of the bloody battles of 1941 in the area of the famous Ratchinsky river crossing. On that day, they managed to raise the remains of four Red Army soldiers. A signed flask was found with one fighter, on which the soldier fully indicated his data – “Gavrilushkin Vasily Alekseyevich, 1920.” The flask was decorated for a long time – this can be seen both by the scale of the inscription and by the drawings on the back of the flask in the form of a tent with a red star and a banner with the abbreviation of the USSR. This discovery became a silent but eloquent testimony to the soldier’s fate.
As happens by tradition, caring people joined the search – compatriots of the fighter, Olga Lantsova (“Neftehimik” search team) and the head of the museum “Suvar” N. M. Sadrieva. It soon became known that the Kuznechihinsky Military Commissariat called up Vasily Alekseyevich for service on October 7, 1940. He met the war as part of the 8th Motorcycle Regiment of the 5th Mechanized Corps, which had been fighting bloody battles in the Ratchinsky crossing area since July 1941. In July of the same year, Gavrilushkin was considered missing.
With the help of Svetlana Yeruslanova from the Chuvash Burnayevo of Alkeyevsky district, it was possible to find household books from the 40s of the Gavrilushkin family, thanks to which the Hero’s relatives were found.
In 2020, the granddaughter of the deceased fighter Gavrilushkin V. A., Tatyana Kotegova, came from Tatarstan. She participated in the burial of her grandfather, received his personal belongings and the medal “Stepping into Immortality”. The granddaughter also visited the place of the soldier’s death.
On November 17, Tatiana Grigorievna handed over to the museum the personal belongings of the fighter, which took pride of place in the museum of the history of the city “Suvar”, in order to preserve the memory of his exploits and pass them on to future generations.
