On November 23, 2025, as part of the project “Bolgar for All”, which is being implemented at the expense of the “Tatneft” Charitable Foundation, classes for 7 students of Bolgar sanatorium boarding school were held at the archaeological site and in the creative studio “Territory of opportunities” of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
At the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, students became acquainted with the science called archeology that studies the historical past of humankind based on material sources. Since the children attended these classes for the first time, they were interested in conducting impromptu excavations where they used brushes to find “archaeological objects”. Everyone determined his object, what material it was made of, and which of the artisans could make it. The children found their objects in the museum’s exposition and gave them a description. Additionally, on the interactive whiteboard, students collected images of pottery from fragments and expressed their assumptions about its purpose. In the creative studio, the children worked on looms, and in a needlework class, they learned how to make a patchwork doll and weave bracelets from colored threads. In additional drawing classes, the participants created paintings on water using the Ebru technique with transfer to paper, and improvised paintings on tables with sand. Schoolchildren are happy to attend such classes where they watch not only the museum’s exposition, but also become familiar with folk art crafts.
