On November 19, 2025, the head of the exhibition complex “Memorial Sign” of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Salimova G.I. held an event “Legends of Volga Bulgaria” for 13 9th grade students of Bolgar cadet boarding school.
Bolgar architectural monuments are especially valuable as living witnesses of those states like Volga Bulgaria and the Golden Horde, when the city of Bolgar witnessed the flourishing of production and culture. The formation of urban planning skills among the Bulgars had a centuries-old history and developed under the influence of different cultural principles, especially Muslim ones. The Bulgar urban culture absorbed the architectural principles and achievements of other peoples.
The preserved legends of Volga Bulgaria reflect the culture of this state, including the mythological ideas and beliefs of the Bulgars.
During the event, the children became acquainted with the unique ancient architectural monuments “Black Chamber” and “Small Minaret and the Khan’s Tomb.” The schoolchildren enthusiastically immersed themselves in the world of the legends of the Great Bolgar.
