On November 4, a methodologist of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve V.N. Glavnova held an information and educational event “In friendship of peoples is the unity of Russia” for children attending the school camp of Bolgar secondary school No. 1, dedicated to National Unity Day.
National Unity Day is celebrated as a major public holiday throughout Russia on November 4. Its main date of birth is called 1612 when Minin and Pozharsky organized the people to defend the city of Moscow and the entire Russian land from the Polish invaders.
During the event, the students learned about how many nationalities, peoples and ethnic groups inhabit Russia. To consolidate their knowledge, the children took part in a quiz, competed in composing folk proverbs and in the contest “Make a picture and name the nationality”. The children painted costumes of different nations, and watched a clip with Oleg Gazmanov’s song “Forward, Russia”.
21 people attended the event.
