On October 31, the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference named after Hero of the Soviet Union A. Z. Valeev was held in the village of Kargaly, Chistopol district, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The main organizers were the Kargalinsky Gymnasium of the Chistopolsky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of Education of the Executive Committee of the Chistopolsky municipal district, the Committee for Work with Local Historians of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars, Kazan Innovative University named after V. G. Timiryasov.
Employees of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Muhametshin J.G. and Muhametshin I.D. attended the conference.
The report of J.G. Muhametshin “The unity and originality of the Bulgar-Tatar epigraphic monuments” was devoted to the development and diversity of tombstone monuments from the 13th to the 20th centuries. Many monuments have been studied on the territory of the Chistopol cemetery, which shows the continuity of generations over several centuries. Muhametshin I. D.’s report “Counting tokens as a historical source” is devoted to little–studied archaeological material – counting tokens, which were widely used in XVI-XIX centuries both as a means of payment and for decoration. Tokens are often found in the Volga region, the Urals and Siberia. Muhametshin I.D. was awarded a diploma for his active work on the development of local history in the Volga region.
