On October 24, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve M.N. Rogachyova gave a lecture “Dogs are four–legged fighters of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” for the students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
At the lecture, the students watched a presentation about dogs that helped Soviet soldiers during the war, about their heroic deeds. During the war, about 68,000 dogs were drafted into the army; they participated in the fighting and helped to win. During the conversation, the children learned what specialties dogs were trained in military dog breeding schools, heard about famous four-legged fighters who distinguished themselves on the battlefields and even received an award. The children willingly participated in the conversation, went out to read texts and poems about dogs. They consolidated the material by answering the questions of the proposed quiz, and the most active ones received small prizes.
