On October 16, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Bitunova Yu. A. gave a lecture “Our city in the distant past” to students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1.
The students received information about how the city appeared and developed, about its historical features, as well as how it has transformed over time.
The city as a complex phenomenon of the historical process reflects all aspects and features of the development of society. In 1781, by decree of Catherine II, Spassk received the status of a county town of the Kazan governorate. In 1935-1957, Spassk existed under the name Kuibyshev. In 1991, the city of Kuibyshev was renamed the city of Bolgar. Today, the relocated city is being revived, attracting more and more attention from tourists.
The lecture was given in order to form the interest of the younger generation in studying the history of the cultural and historical heritage of their native land, respect for their small homeland, and broaden the horizons of students.
12 people attended the lecture.
