On October 10, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N.R. gave an interactive lecture on “Calligraphy lessons” to 6th grade students from Ulyanovsk.
Since ancient times, people have been diligently writing letters, elevating calligraphy to the rank of art. It has been observed that it has a good effect on the overall intellectual development of children. Scientists around the world believe that the invention of writing was more important for the development of the human race than any other cognitive achievement, as it gave a great impetus to the further intellectual development of all humankind.
During the event, the students became acquainted with the development of writing in the territory of Volga Bulgaria. Children and adults enjoyed trying out ancient writing devices used by our distant ancestors: wax tablets, reed sticks, bamboo kalam, goose and metal ink pens. The children saw some writing devices in the museum’s exposition. They were interested in the interactive event and asked many questions. The schoolchildren demonstrated their knowledge of the topic and left good wishes to the museum staff, expressing their desire to return to ancient Bolgar.
