On July 1, 2025, the exhibition “V.M. Korolyov is the first keeper of Bolgar antiquities” was opened at the exhibition site of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, which was timed to coincide with the day of the formation of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
The exhibition tells about local resident Vasyli Mikhailovich Korolyov, a history teacher at a Bolgar school, who since 1919 became the first state caretaker of the Bolgar ancient settlement and the Museum of Antiquities established in the Black Chamber.
The exhibition uses documents and objects from the collection of the museum-reserve, which reveal the life and work of V. M. Korolyov.
