On September 21, the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim visited Great Bolgar.
The guest of honor was greeted with bread and salt and the Tatar national treat – chak-chak.
Accompanied by the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the guest visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization and the Memorial Sign in honor of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars in 922, where he became acquainted with the rich history of Ancient Bolgar and the unique archaeological complex included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Sultan Ibrahim was particularly impressed by the largest printed Quran in the world.
