On July 28, children vacationing in the camp at the Regina Hotel visited the Bolgar Museum-Reserve. An interactive tour “Journey to Ancient Bolgar” in the form of an exciting quest was organized for the children.
The students expanded their knowledge of the history of Volga Bulgaria, joined the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Tatarstan, and became acquainted with the profession of an archaeologist and the artifacts presented in the exposition of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization.
The participants of the event answered the questions of the quest and earned “coins”. They also visited the interactive platform where workshops on art painting, handlooming, basket weaving and making patchwork dolls were presented. Everyone was able to feel like a master-craftsman and make handmade souvenirs. The children enjoyed playing the medieval board games “Alquerque”, “Mill” and “Kulbutto”. The trip continued with a visit to the Quran Museum, which features the largest printed Quran in the world, a mosaic panel about the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars, and many other unusual exhibits. Teams of participants put together puzzles depicting historical monuments. The historical quest ended on the territory of the Bolgar settlement where the results were summed up, and the most erudite participants received memorable gifts from the Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
