On July 18, an employee of the Bolgar Museum–Reserve Bitunova Yu. A. held for tourists an event “Protected corners of the native land”.
Today, there are more than a hundred nature reserves in Russia. One of them is the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve. Founded in 1969, it is the world’s northernmost monument of medieval Muslim architecture, an object of historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the event, tourists walked through the territory of the ancient city of Bolgar and visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization. They became acquainted with the history of the city, with unique architectural monuments, numerous archaeological finds that are represented in the museum, learned about the origin and development of the museum-reserve, about research and archaeological excavations conducted on its territory.
