On July 16, a researcher of the department “Museum of Bulgarian Civilization” of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve S.V. Krivosheyeva conducted an interactive lesson “Secrets of ancient Bolgar” for two guests from Moscow.
The tourists toured the halls of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, became acquainted with the history of the ancient city, its secrets and legends. They learned about the visit of Peter I and Catherine II to ancient Bolgar, heard the story of Bulgar boots, what kind of weapon was called “garlic”, what “horos” is and its purpose. The guests listened with great interest to the legends about the Black Chamber, Lake of Rabiga. The tourists watched the slides depicting the preserved architectural monuments of the 13th – 14th centuries, visited the Museum of the Koran, the Cathedral Mosque and the Khan’s Palace.
