On May 22, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sabirova L.A. for seven guests of the museum held an informative and educational event “Medicine of the ancient Bulgars”.
The event took place in the museum “Healer’s House” where the participants were given an excursion, which familiarizes with the medicine of Volga Bulgaria. The tourists saw authentic tools and accessories of ancient healers, as well as books on healing.
The guests learned that the physicians of Bolgar and their scientific works were widely known and popular throughout the Muslim world, especially in the field of pharmacology. Archaeological research confirms this fact and testifies to the presence of developed crafts related to science and medicine in Volga Bulgaria. During the event, the guests actively participated in the quiz and received memorable gifts.
