On March 28, in the city of Ulyanovsk on the basis of the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after I.A. Goncharov, the XXV interregional conference “History and Modernity of the Middle Volga Region” took place.
The staff of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve R.M. Vagapov, I.D. Muhametshin, G.R. Prokofieva, O.P. Osintseva, G.M. Musina and N.O. Ahundov attended the conference. The report of R.M. Vagapov “Stone tools from the collection of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve and their continuity” was devoted to the classification and interpretation of stone tools, and their analogies on other monuments were presented. The report of I.D. Muhametshin “Materials of the Tenishev burial ground from the funds of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve” familiarizes with a rich collection of finds of the Neolithic era, among which there are stone pendants of various forms. The report by G.R. Prokofieva “Porcelain plates from the ethnographic collection of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve” is devoted to the rich ceramic collection of porcelain. In the report of O.P. Osintseva “Museum through the eyes of children. Experience of work with preschool children”, was summarized the rich experience of the Reserve’s staff in working with children of preschool age. The report of G.M. Musina “Abdulla Alish is both poet and hero” was devoted to our compatriot, a remarkable poet and children’s writer A. Alish. N.O. Ahundov’s report “Kazan bypass as a labor feat of the rear” was devoted to the heroic labor feat – construction of the Kazan bypass, in which residents of Tatarstan took part.
For the participants of the conference was conducted a tour of the exhibition “D.I. Arhangelsky: student and teacher” in the Exhibition Hall of the Historical and Memorial Center-Museum of I.A. Goncharov. He took part in the excavations of Bolgar. Many of his drawings are devoted to the town of Bolgar.
The conference was held in a friendly, creative atmosphere.
