On March 21, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve L.A. Sabirova together with specialists of the State Autonomous Social Center “Rassvet” for 9 pupils of Bolgar boarding school held an interactive museum class “Larks come and bring spring!”
The Slavic holiday Larks is celebrated on March 22 – on the day of the vernal equinox.
During the event, the schoolchildren learned about the history of the holiday, folk games, folk calendar, traditions and customs, learned why the holiday is called “Larks”. Children actively participated in games and contests, as well as in a master class on cooking a traditional Russian holiday treat “Lark”, where pupils showed their skills. The event ended with wishing each other and everyone happiness and kindness. As it was supposed to be, the crowning event was a cheerful, hearty tea party with fragrant traditional baked goods “larks”.
