On March 18, the head of the department “Museum of Bulgarian Civilization” of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Zarifullina T.G. and museum curator Kamayeva T.P. held for the students of Bolgar secondary school No. 1 an informational and educational lesson “Crimea. Sevastopol and Russia together forever” dedicated to the Day of Reunification of Crimea with Russia.
March 18 is an important date in the history of Russia, celebrating the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation. On this day in 2014, a referendum was held where the residents of Crimea expressed their desire to become part of Russia. The day of Crimea’s reunification with Russia became a symbol of patriotism and unity of the nation, and it has been marked as a public holiday ever since. The students were told about the historical connection between Russia and Crimea, the sights and people of this region. Crimeans are proud of the vastness and beauty of their homeland, but the most important wealth of Crimea is people, their friendship. Currently, 125 different peoples and nationalities live in Crimea.
The schoolchildren watched a video “The Day of Reunification of Crimea with Russia” telling about the history of Crimea and Sevastopol, its people and attractions. The children actively participated in the discussion of the movie, talked about the historical significance of Crimea’s joining Russia, and shared their thoughts, knowledge and emotions.
The class was attended by 22 schoolchildren.
