On February 13, 2025, the head of the department “Museum of Bulgarian Civilization” Zarifullina T.G. and museum curator Kamayeva T.P. held an informative and educational lesson “To know in order to live!” dedicated to the prevention of HIV/AIDS among minors.
Today there is a lot of talk about how important it is to be healthy, because the most precious thing a person has is life and health. Unfortunately, not all of us try to keep our health. Pupils of the 10th grade of Bolgar secondary school No. 1 took part in the lesson, which was held in the form of a round table with training elements, dedicated to the problem of HIV/AIDS. At the very beginning, the children had a small warm-up called “Live Diagram” in order to find out the degree of awareness of the participants on this problem. Then everyone participated in the exercise “Hangout” in order to identify a HIV-infected person by external signs. At the end of the exercise, they made a conclusion: HIV-infection does not “have a face”. It is impossible to determine whether a person has HIV or not, and this is what makes him dangerous. The main thing is to know the ways of transmission of the disease and thus avoid the risk of infection.
The schoolchildren watched a video film telling what HIV is, how dangerous AIDS is, the stages of the virus, the main ways of its spread and preventive measures. The children actively participated in the discussion of the movie, shared their thoughts, knowledge and emotions.
The international symbol of the fight against AIDS is a red ribbon. The blood-colored ribbon rolled up in a loop is present on the emblems of all organizations related to this epidemic. The children drew their own red ribbon on a blank poster with only the title “WE ARE AGAINST AIDS!”
