On February 4, 2025, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Hramov D.P. for the students of Bolgar secondary school № 1 held a lesson of courage “The Battle of Stalingrad” timed to coincide with the Day of Military Glory – the Day of the defeat of Nazi troops by the Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad.
The lesson of courage was conducted in the form of a conversation with students. The children learned that the fate of the civilized world was decided at the walls of Stalingrad. The Battle of Stalingrad lasted 200 days and nights – from July 17, 1942 to February 2, 1943. By duration and fierceness of battles, by the number of people and military equipment involved, the Battle of Stalingrad surpassed all the battles of world history at that time. Pupils learned why it was important for the Germans to capture this city. Stories about the courage and heroism of the defenders of Stalingrad caused in children a sense of pride and gratitude.
At the end of the event, it was concluded that during the harsh days of the Battle on the Volga, the Soviet troops preserved and multiplied the best traditions of the Russian military, and the younger generation should know and remember the exploits of our great-grandfathers and respect the history of their country!
