On January 9, 2025, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Hramov D.P. held an entertaining and informative event “New Year’s symphony” for 18 students of the 2nd grade of Bolgar secondary school № 1.
At the event, the students learned about the history of the New Year holiday. From the colorful presentation, the children learned that the decree of Peter I, issued on December 30, 1699, prescribed new procedures for celebrating the New Year. Since then they began to decorate the main Moscow streets with spruce branches, put live Christmas trees or spruce branches in houses, organize large-scale festivals and masquerades.
For the children were held mobile games, fun contests and “New Year’s quiz” on knowledge of the main holiday symbols and fairy tale characters. Each participant received a small memorable gift.
