From January 2 to 5, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve traditionally welcomed all guests with a theatrical performance “Winter Meetings with the Past” at the Christmas tree.
The participants of the meetings were tourists from different parts of Russia: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Bryansk, Sakhalin, Yaroslavl, Chelyabinsk, Ufa and Kazan. A New Year’s program, various excursion routes, interactive excursions, contests, master classes and dancing by the Christmas tree were prepared for the guests.

held contests, games and dances to rousing New Year’s music. Both adults and children read New Year’s poems, sang New Year’s songs and, by tradition, made a round dance around the Christmas tree. At the gastronomic site “Bolgar Tea Party”, guests were treated to fragrant herbal tea and pancakes baked on the fire. At the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, at the interactive site “Hanbike New Year’s Workshop”, the guests participated in master classes on pottery, vine weaving, making dolls and New Year’s toys, played board games. With the help of skillful artisans, everyone could make a unique souvenir for themselves and their loved ones. Also for the guests, there was a platform where master classes with finger puppets were held, and the participants could get acquainted with fairy tales by A. Alish.
Children and adults were able to plunge into the festive atmosphere of magic, adventure, something extraordinary, mysterious, mesmerizing and unforgettable, to take part in interesting contests and give themselves a wonderful mood.
New Year is a time of magic, smiles and happiness. This holiday is important for everyone without exception. Adults, feeling the festive mood, begin to believe in the fairy tale again, and the sincere admiration and joy of children only complement and add colorfulness to this event.
