On 12 August 2024, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N.R. for 6 visitors from Kazan held an event on “Architecture is a chronicle of the world”, timed to the Day of the Builder.
The study of the architecture of Volga Bulgaria is of great importance, as this state played a significant role in the formation of the architectural appearance of modern cities located on its territory. All archaeological, written and other sources testify to the fact that Bulgarian cities were excellent examples of quality architectural creativity. Palace buildings, manor houses of feudal nobility, caravanserais, cathedral and neighborhood mosques, public baths, mausoleums and other buildings were constructed. In addition to religious and public buildings, residential architecture with elements of landscaping, water supply, drainage and underground heating was developed in Volga Bulgaria.
During the event, taking into account the age of the visitors, the guests were presented with visual material: reproductions of paintings, schemes of ancient monuments, which helped to present the high level of sanitary and technical development of monumental architecture of Bolgar for that time. The children in a competitive form made models of the monuments “Black Chamber”, “Small Minaret” and “Eastern Mausoleum” out of wooden parts-modules. Kids imagined themselves as ancient builders and made a mini-project – an applique “Small Minaret”, gluing alternately beige rectangles, alternating different tones. At the end of the class, they jointly drew a poster “I love Bolgar”.
