Sabantuy, the annual “festival of the plough” signifying the end of spring field work, is one of the main celebrations of the Tatars. The holiday is fun, cheerful and truly popular.
On June 21, 2024, for 20 pupils of kindergarten “Kolosok” an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Salimova G. I. together with teachers organized a summer entertainment “Sabantuy”. The children learnt about the history of the holiday and took an active part in fun games, contests and amusements: “Bring the egg first”, “Tug the rope”, “Bring the buckets on the reed”, “Break the pot”, “Cut the gift”, “Pillow fight”, round dance game “Pass the skullcap”. Kids deftly and skillfully coped with the tasks, got positive emotions from the holiday and a charge of good mood for the whole day. The holiday ended with a friendly and fiery Tatar dance.
