On 21 June 2024, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V.N. for 27 pupils of the school camp of Bolgar secondary school № 2 held an information and cognitive event “Memory of the Blazing Years” dedicated to the Day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War (Day of Remembrance and Sorrow).
On 22 June 1941, the Great Patriotic War, the most terrible in the history of our land and our country, began. Early in the morning of 22 June, Hitler’s troops crossed the border of the Soviet Union. A deadly threat loomed over our Motherland. “Stand to the death” – that was the order of the Motherland calling its sons and daughters to fight the enemy. Everyone who could fight went to the front. Those who fought at the front gave all their strength to achieve victory over the enemy.
During the event, the pupils learnt about the unprecedented feat of our people, about the courage of Soviet soldiers, the careful attitude of contemporaries to the memory of past military events, listened to songs and poems dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The children took part in a literary quiz, wrote letters to the soldiers of the Special Military Operation who are fighting for their Motherland today. At the end, the pupils observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers who defended their native land and mighty country.
