On June 14, 2024, the head of the museum “Suvar” Sadrieva N.M. held a museum lesson “Day of young local historian and archaeologist” for 12 children from the recreation camp at the Kuznechihinskaya School. High school students were involved in the lesson and participated as presenters.
Children were traditionally met by the “ruler of Suvar” (Arseny Kashtanov) and the “princess of Suvar” (Dasha Osochkina) who welcomed the young guests and treated them to the national dish “chak-chak”.
The presenters introduced the children to the history of the ancient city of Suvar – one of the most important cities of Volga Bulgaria and explained the meaning of the words “local historian” and “archaeologist”. N.M. Sadrieva held a conversation with children about the importance of the study of local lore in the people’s lives.
Children spoke with great respect and understanding about love to the Motherland. The theme of the importance of archeology in the study of history was touched upon. The participants learned the rules of archaeological excavations. For them were modeled boxes with sand for conducting “excavations” where kids found objects with the help of brushes. Children identified their names and purpose, measured them, and drew them. Everything was close to reality, just on a small scale. It was very fascinating and interesting for the schoolchildren.
At the end of the event, the participants received memorable gifts.
