On 5 June 2024, an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N. R. for 13 children of the summer camp of Bolgar secondary school № 2 held an event-propaganda ‘Say no to drugs!’ dedicated to the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Every year the whole world community celebrates this date on 26 June. This tradition has been going on since 1987. At present in Russia, according to statistics, more than 20 per cent of the total number of drug addicts are children and teenagers under 16 years of age. Drug addiction has become one of the main problems and one of the most terrible phenomena of our time.
During the event, the pupils learnt about the harmfulness of narcotic potion, its influence on every human organ, on the whole organism and personality as a whole. The schoolchildren were shown a presentation with examples from the lives of drug addicts, including famous personalities who were not spared by drugs. The children saw pictures of mutilated human organs that had been subjected to drug attack. Pupils were asked leading questions, and, reasoning on their own, they drew logical conclusions about the need to live without drugs, that their use leads to the destruction of the organism and death. In the end, children made their own poster ‘We are against drugs’.
