On 25 May 2024, for 13 pupils of the 5th grade of Bolgar cadet boarding school an employee of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M.N. held an event on ‘Journey to the past’. The event was timed to coincide with the World Heritage Days of Russia and was held with the aim of expanding the historical knowledge of children, developing in them love and respect for the history of their native land, as well as a careful attitude to architectural monuments and to the cultural heritage of our country.
During the interactive and informative event, the schoolchildren visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, learned about the history of the Bulgars and the ancient city of Bolgar, and actively performed the proposed tasks. On the territory of the Bolgar settlement, the children saw unique architectural monuments of the 13th-14th centuries, heard ancient tales connected with them and looked into the craft workshops where they got acquainted with folk arts and crafts.
Having made a fascinating ‘journey into the past’, the schoolchildren gained new knowledge of the history of their native land and a lot of bright impressions.
