On May 22, 2024, the employees of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization Zarifullina T.G., Kamayeva T.P. and Salnikova V.A. held an information and entertaining event on “Family and home is the beginning of everything” devoted to the Year of Family in Russia for 14 pensioners of the veteran organization of Spassky municipal district of Tatarstan.
The year 2024 was officially declared the Year of Family by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation. From ancient times, the family consisted of more than one generation. There were grandmothers, grandfathers, mum, dad, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They lived in friendship, helped each other. Some of them managed to keep up with the household, others worked in the fields, older brothers and sisters protected the young. They lived cheerfully, respected old age, protected young people. Families were big and strong. Home – this word is familiar to everyone, it smells cozy and warm. The more complex the world is around us, the more difficult is to preserve ourselves, our individuality, kindness, the more we are drawn to private life, to our home – a shelter that will protect us from all misfortunes. Home for each of us is the most important, the most necessary thing in life. If mutual understanding and trust, warmth and coziness reign in it, it is real happiness.
The veterans visited the Museum of writing, learnt the history of Turkic-Tatar literature and written language, starting with runic writing and ending with the modern Tatar language. They walked along the picturesque historical embankment, admired the beauty of spring nature, visited the ruins of a medieval bathhouse and learnt about its structure and significance.
In the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, the guests became acquainted with the exhibitions, and then actively participated in a conversation about family, marriage and home. They shared their family traditions, interesting stories from their lives, told about their hobbies.
The event ended in a warm, positive atmosphere with contests, quizzes and a friendly tea party.
