On 22 May 2024, in the city of Chistopol on the basis of Kazan Innovation University named after G. V. Timiryasov the II All-Russian scientific-practical conference with international participation ‘Volgo-Kamye: history, socio-cultural heritage and prospects’ took place. A plenary session was held in the large hall of the Cultural Centre ‘Chistai’. Representatives of the city administration, heads of organizations, foreign guests, clergy, cultural workers, schoolchildren and students attended it.
Employees of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve J.G. Muhametshin, I.D. Muhametshin and R.M. Vagapov participated in the conference.
J.G. Muhametshin’s report ‘Chistopol hoard of Golden Horde coins’ is devoted to the hoard discovered in the vicinity of Chistopol in 1968. It contains 596 coins and is connected with the financial reform of Bulat-Timur.
I.D. Muhametshin’s report ‘Historiography of the district of Bolgar’ reveals the issues of formation of the district of Bolgar and other monuments of the Volga region.
R.M. Vagapov’s report ‘Bone arrowheads from the funds of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve’ is devoted to the variety of arrowhead types and their interpretation.
All the participants of the conference were given commemorative certificates.
