On 21 May 2024, as part of the project “Pushkin’s card”, the staff of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve held an interactive event on ‘Hospitable Bolgar’ for the students of Dimitrovgrad, of Bolgar secondary school No. 1 and Bolgar boarding school for children with disabilities.
The participants of the program became acquainted with the history and life of the ancient city of Bolgar.
The historical film ‘Essays on the journey of Ahmed Ibn-Fadlan’ allowed students to repeat the path of the famous Baghdad embassy and its secretary, making a fascinating walk through the streets of the ancient city in virtual reality glasses.
During the interactive part of the lesson on the sports and historical ground, the participants were able to join the military arts of the middle ages and test their marksmanship in archery. The children also enjoyed hot pancakes from the oven with aromatic Bolgar tea.
