On 8 May 2024, an employee of the department “Museum Street” of the Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova L. Sh. for the pupils of the kindergarten “Antoshka” held an event on “Letter-triangle” dedicated to Victory Day.
The triangle letter is one of the unforgettable symbols of the Great Patriotic War. Before the war, our country was called the most reading in the world. During the war, it became the most writing. During 4 years of the Great Patriotic War, postmen delivered 10.7 billion triangle letters and postcards to the addressees. In the war years, even those who had never held a tool lighter than an axe took up the pen.
Hospital ward neighbors wrote for the seriously wounded. Grandchildren wrote for their grandmothers. The country became a boundless field post with offices on every street and addressees in every heart. 10 billion 700 million letters of war. If this triangular wedge had risen into the sky, there would have been no light in the sky. Only pain. Only love.
At the event, children learnt about war letters, that every family, every soldier waited for them. Kids learned how to bend them correctly to make a triangle letter, drew their own pictures, also watched a short film about the horrors of war and told poems.
